#689 - VALA MORO the artist & dancer
In our research in Europe, we have had very little luck in discovering much about the life of artist Vala Moro. What I learned while preparing my "Boudoir Art" book was that she was an artist in Vienna (Austria) during the Art Deco period of the Twenties & moreso Thirties. But all other details eluded us. However, I was grateful to receive information from a collector that Vala Moro was also a dancer. In fact, she also had her own tobacco or arcade card with her picture upon it. She was a stunning beauty shown in a progressive theatric Deco posed scene! If anyone else knows anything about Vala Moro's life, kindly Email me. Thanks!

#528 - Unmasked by Carle-DuPont
This is a pencil-signed drypoint etching by Carle-DuPont. It shows a blonde in a ballroom gown looking to the side coyly once her mask is off. Image is 16 1/2 by 12 1/2. Sheet is rectangular. This has nice colors and look, but unfortunately, the printing strike was so hard that the paper tore along the top of the oval impression line. Therefore, the paper is torn around the top rim of the picture (about 1/8 inch from image). A piece of archival tape stabilizes it at rear. In a frame, one would probably not notice this. There are a couple edge tears to sheet as well that do not reach the image. Thus, the price is set low to get it cheap for your wall. No mats or frame. Etching only
Condition: Good with tears  |  Price: 37.5
